Excellent! The snake in the photo is a Southern Black Racer. It's scientific classification is Coluber constrictor priapus. Black Racers are nonvenomous and pose no threat to people. However, they can bite. Racers are known as "Slashers". When a Black Racer strikes it slashes it's head to the side after making contact with the skin. Hence, the name "Slashers".
