The purpose of this site is to share the passion I have for snakes with everyone and hopefully teach you the many different species of snakes that we are fortunate to have in the United States. This site is also for other people that share the same passion for snakes so you may also share your opinions. Snakes have a very bad reputation here in the United States. They are often killed by people who can not tell you, with a 100% confidence, whether the snake they're killing is venomous or not. Many snakes are also killed because they are misidentified as a venomous snake. There are only four types of snakes that are venomous to people here in the United States and there are many, many nonvenomous snakes. So if you are one of the people who kills all snakes hopefully this website will change your mind.
